Module 1:
The module 1 element of the test must be passed before going onto module two, it consists of doing manoeuvres on a specially designed off road area. These manoeuvres include: U turn; emergency stop, slalom, obstacle avoidance, slow control; pushing the bike and the figure of 8.
D.A.S. (Direct Access Scheme).
The motorcycle test is split into two modules.
The direct access scheme allows people over 21 years of age to obtain a full unrestricted motorcycle licence after successful completion of the practical motorcycle test.
Prior to taking module 1 you must have a valid C.B.T. certificate and have also completed the motorcycle theory test, however you can still start your D.A.S. training prior to taking your theory test if you so wish.
Your D.A.S. Training takes place on motorcycles of over 46.6bhp, normally at least a 500cc motorcycle.
Module 2:
This can only be done after successfully completing module 1, this training includes;
High speed dual carriageway work,
Overtaking, riding on country roads, slow control, use of roundabouts, riding in congested areas, effective observations, road courtesy and hazard awareness.....
The training for module 2 can take from 1 to 5 days depending on rider experience and ability.
